The Department of Natural Resources (DNR) is hiring an IT Portfolio Manager to work within the Division of Fish, Wildlife, and Parks, Office of Business Services, located at 101 S. Webster St., Madison.

This is a project position, with an anticipated timeline of approximately 2 years.

Position Summary:   This position is responsible for management and coordination of the portfolio of IT projects for all programs within the Division of Fish, Wildlife, and Parks (FWP). The position will have advanced skillsets in project planning, business and resource management, along with analysis and design to manage projects for programs within the FWP Division. This position leads project teams for developing specialized Information Technology (IT) applications to ensure the FWP Division and its partners are able to streamline their business functions.

Special Notes:   Employment will require the selected candidate to pass a background check. DNR does not sponsor work visas, thus, in compliance with federal law, all persons hired will be required to verify eligibility to work in the United States by completing the required I-9 form upon hire.

Qualifications:   Required qualifications include experience in all of the following:
   - Portfolio management such as leadership, project planning, stakeholder collaboration, project governance, prioritization techniques, IT strategic planning, project tracking methods using process improvement techniques, etc. 
   - Acting as a subject matter expert / liaison to communicate technical information to technical and non-technical audiences
   - Developing and implementing IT processes, standards, procedures, dashboards, guidelines, etc. to support process improvement initiatives

Additionally, best-qualified applicants will have the following preferred experiences:
   - Programming skills with languages such as .Net, Oracle, Java, etc.
   - Managing projects using an agile software development methodology
   - Database querying or data analysis experience using Oracle / SQL
   - Experience working on IT projects for State government
