The Department of Natural Resources is hiring 4 LTE - Laborers in our Willow River State Park at 1034 County Road A in Hudson, WI.

Position Summary:   

LTE - Laborer

These positions are responsible for providing maintenance support throughout the property. Duties will involve working outdoors and include the inspection, cleaning and grounds-keeping of buildings, facilities, campgrounds, day use, and picnic areas throughout the property.

50% - Mow grass. Pick up litter. Clean beach areas, restrooms, campfire rings and picnic grills. Remove trees and brush.

30% - Perform general maintenance duties. Develop and maintain trail surfaces. Install signs. Haul garbage. Paint grills and picnic tables.

10% - Operate vehicles and light equipment.

10% - Perform minor plumbing and electrical duties.

Special Notes:   

This is a limited term (LTE) position. Limited term positions do not automatically lead to or enjoy the same benefits as permanent employment, but this position does offer valuable work experience and an opportunity to learn more about career opportunities with the Department of Natural Resources and the State of Wisconsin. LTE employees are limited to working 1039 hours within a twelve-month period. In order to be considered for this position, you must be a resident of the State of Wisconsin. Non-residents may apply, but must meet residency requirements upon hire.

Employment will require the selected candidate to pass a background check. DNR does not sponsor work visas, thus, in compliance with federal law, all persons hired will be required to verify eligibility to work in the United States by completing the required I-9 form upon hire.

Qualifications:   

Required Qualifications:
- Knowledge, skills and experience of general maintenance operations
- Must possess a valid driver's license.
- Ability to work independently, be self-motivated and punctual
- Must be willing and able to work outside and in inclement weather conditions
- Ability to work a modified schedule; nights, weekends, holidays, etc.
