The Wisconsin Department of Health Services (DHS), Southern Wisconsin Center (SWC) is currently recruiting to fill a full time and part time Limited Term Employment Inventory Control Coordinator positions.

SWC is a state operated Intermediate Care Facility for Individuals with Intellectual Disabilities. SWC provides a wide variety of programs and services designed to assist and prepare individuals to live successfully in the setting that best meets their needs.   • LTE positions are not civil service classified positions, do not give any rights to a permanent civil service classified position and do not lead to permanent status.

  • Wisconsin residency is required for LTE positions.

  • No more than 1039 hours may be worked in a 12 month year.

Working hours for the part time position is 6:45 a.m. 10:45 a.m., Monday-Friday, working between 12 to 24 hours per week, depending on the work load. Working hours for the full time position is 6:45 a.m. - 3:30 p.m., Monday-Friday, or as needed.

Position Summary:   

The Inventory Control Coordinator will serve as a laundry driver and warehouse stock clerk, will perform routine manual work associated with laundry pickup and distribution, unload and stock equipment and warehouse supplies, and perform inventory and distribution functions in the Material Distribution Center.

Special Notes:   

  • Due to the nature of this position, all applicants who may be appointed will be required to allow the DHS to conduct a background check to determine whether the circumstances of any conviction may be related to the job being filled.

  • This job posting may be used to fill future vacancies

  • All appointees will be required to receive a TB test, which will be administered by SWC or medical personnel approved by the facility prior to their start date.

  • These positions have physical requirements which may include but are limited to lifting up to 50 lbs. frequently, pushing delivery carts weighing 100 lbs. daily., and carrying, pushing pulling, twisting, and bending. Applicants may be required to pass a physical evaluation to assess these requirements.

  • These positions require working outside in various weather conditions.

Qualifications:   

Minimally qualified applicants will have:

  • Experience with warehouse or inventory management, including tasks such as receiving and inspecting items delivered, stocking, delivering requested supplies, etc.

  • Experience providing customer service, including tasks such as responding to inquiries and providing assistance to internal and external customers.

  • Experience practicing safety precautions with maintenance equipment and utilizing proper lifting techniques, as well as personal protective equipment. 

  • Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license and meet the requirements of the State of Wisconsin Fleet Vehicle Policy** to drive a state vehicle.

  • Excellent communication skills

Well qualified candidates will also have:

  • Experience with computers and software programs, such as Word, Excel, PeopleSoft, databases, etc. 

  • Experience in the operation of a forklift.

  • Experience driving a truck larger than a standard pick-up truck.

**State of Wisconsin Fleet Vehicle Policy:

  • Must have a valid driver's license.

  • Minimum of two (2) year's driving experience.

  • Must be 18 years of age of older.

Additionally, the driving record must not reflect the following conditions:

  • Three (3) or more moving violations (with point reductions) and/or at fault accidents in the past two (2) years.

  • An OWI or DUI violation within the past 12 months.

  • A suspension or revocation of the driver's license.
