The starting wage is between $32.41 and $36.96 per hour with additional compensation for weekends, nights, holidays and overtime. Positions at 60% of full-time or greater are eligible for an attractive benefits package. Sign-on bonus of $2000 for eligible employees. This position is in pay schedule-range 11-02. For current or eligible former State employees, pay on appointment will be set in accordance with the Wisconsin Compensation Plan. A 12-month probationary period may be required.

This professional nursing position is responsible for providing direct and indirect patient care to a mostly geriatric and/or disabled population. The incumbent provides direction to other staff in the provision and coordination of member care, and monitors care given by other health team members on a unit, floor, or in a building. All activities are performed in accordance with applicable industry standards of practice, facility policies/procedures, and state and federal rules and regulations.
Nurse Clinician 2 positions work multiple shifts, weekends, holidays and overtime as needed. Job duties require the ability to assist in mobility efforts, stand and/or walk up to 75% of eight hour day to provide assessments, kneel, stoop, make visual observations, lift, push, pull, carry, reach, maintain hygiene, use special safety equipment and wear protective clothing.
Due to the nature of the positions, WDVA will conduct background checks on applicants prior to an offer of employment.
Employment in this position is contingent upon passing a pre-employment tuberculosis (TB) test.
Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States (i.e., a citizen or national of the U.S., a lawful permanent resident, an alien authorized to work in the U.S. without WDVA sponsorship) at the time of application.

Providing nursing care (e.g., assessing and documenting patient status, providing direct and indirect patient care, providing treatments, investigating and solving problems, assisting and training other staff, directing activities based on patient needs, etc.); and/or
Working collaboratively (e.g., interdisciplinary healthcare teams, developing and implementing care plans, providing feedback, etc.); and/or
Using computer systems and applications (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite, electronic charting systems, etc.)
