The starting base pay is $17.58 per hour (approx. $36,566 annually) plus excellent benefits. Pay for current state employees will be set based on the State Compensation Plan in effect at the time of appointment. A 12-month probationary period is required. The pay schedule-range is 03-13.
WMHI is a psychiatric hospital providing quality mental health services to children, adolescents, and adults. The facility has a beautiful campus located on Lake Winnebago with adjacent walking paths by the lake for employees to use during break periods. This position works 10 hour shifts, 4 days per week (6:00 AM - 4:00 PM). Schedule includes every other weekend and every other holiday with some flexibility.
This position performs general/preventative maintenance on (but not limited to) the following systems: heating, plumbing, electrical, and ventilation systems; washer and dryer repairs. In addition, this position will inspect, maintain, install, remove floors, roofs, ceilings, doors, windows, screens, furniture, parking lots, sidewalks, and various building hardware and equipment. This position submits monthly estimates of material needed to perform assigned tasks, keeps accurate logs, and submits written reports as required. This position works around patients/inmates and is responsible for the security of tools and keys.
