Starting pay will be $17.94 per hour. Benefits include more than 2 weeks of paid leave to start, paid sick leave, employer contributions to the Wisconsin Retirement System, and paid health insurance, as well as other optional insurance and retirement benefits. A twelve month probationary period will be required. For current permanent state employees, pay will be set in accordance with the State Compensation Plan.
The Department of Military Affairs (DMA) has a current Facilities Maintenance Specialist Advanced vacancy, located at Fort McCoy. This is a state classified civil service position.

This position performs maintenance and repair operations to all mechanical components of all buildings of the facilities within their work area. This includes performing preventative maintenance, calibrating controls, servicing, and replacing/repairing/rebuilding items on steam lines, valves, steam traps, refrigeration and air conditioning units, ventilating equipment, pumps, compressors, overhead doors, 240V or less electric motors, and building equipment. In addition, this position is responsible for the planning, development of job materials lists, maintaining a parts/supplies/requisition form of purchases items inventory, and submitting authorization forms for purchases to the Building Superintendent. It also performs electrical and plumbing maintenance and repair, and performs maintenance and repair to building structural components.
Required to possess a valid Wisconsin driver’s license. Must be physically able to lift and move objects in excess of 50 pounds. Must be able to operate lift equipment and have no limitations for working in high areas.
