NOTE: Interviews will be conducted virtually. The position will be required to report to 1 W. Wilson Street in Madison, WI. Training may be conducted remotely due to the current pandemic until the building is open to DHS employees.
The Enterprise Data Warehouse Architect works in the Data Management, Security, and Storage Section in BSM. This position will play a critical role in implementing innovative enterprise data warehouse and data analytics modules to advance data-driven decision making capabilities.
This position is the DMS subject matter expert for data warehouse strategy, architecture, design and implementation, and is responsible for technical oversight of the Medicaid enterprise data warehouse, and data analytics and reporting systems.
This position will lead the development of data warehouse modeling and best practices for DMS. The Enterprise Data Warehouse Architect will provide oversight of vendors and review proposed solutions to ensure they both follow best practices and meet the needs of the consumers of DMS data.

Minimally qualified applicants will have:
- Experience evaluating or reviewing the architectural design of data warehouses and making recommendations to meet the needs of data consumers.
- Experience creating and reviewing data models for accuracy, security and efficiency.
- Experience working with relational database technologies.
- Experience providing technical service, troubleshooting, or consultation to internal and external stakeholders regarding data management or interpretation.
- Effective communication skills.
Well-qualified applicants will have:
- Experience with data warehouse development in a health care or government setting.
- Experience designing a new data warehouse and creating plans for migrating existing sources to a new environment.
- Experience implementing data governance policies into data warehouses.
