Job Duties: This position is responsible for providing skilled nursing care to offenders in both ambulatory and infirmary settings; providing patient assessment and treatment; assisting physicians in providing medical services; managing medications, providing emergency care; and maintaining medical records.Applicants must be legally entitled to work in the United States (i.e., a citizen or national of the U.S., a lawful permanent resident, an alien authorized to work in the U.S. without DOC sponsorship) at the time of application. Must be Wisconsin resident. The Department of Corrections will conduct criminal background checks on applicants prior to selection. Job Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Considerable knowledge of current professional nursing theory and practices; skill in the application of nursing practice in meeting specific needs of offenders, including emergency care, in various areas of the institution; ability to work effectively with incarcerated offenders and other disciplines in a team relationship; and ability to work with a multi-ethnic, multi-culture population. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||
