The starting salary is between $50,730 and $71,695 per year, based on prior nursing experience in the designated discipline, plus excellent benefits. The pay schedule/range is 11-10. A 6-month probationary period is required. This position is represented by the Service Employees International Union bargaining unit.

This position serves as the Statewide Trauma System Coordinator in Wisconsin and is responsible for the coordination, planning, development, implementation and ongoing assessment and evaluation of a statewide trauma system.This includes medical direction, standards of trauma care, treatment and triage guidelines, trauma care facility designation process, trauma registries, patient advocacy, public education and injury prevention.This position functions as the primary resource and consultant for hospitals, organizations, agencies, pre-hospital providers, and individuals to promote the statewide trauma system and acts as a liaison, presenting the statewide trauma program on various committees to enhance and foster optimal trauma care management for the injured patient.The incumbent works in collaboration with various statewide committees and boards to ensure the quality of the trauma system and will be involved in research selection, analysis, and distribution of findings, and facilitating protocol design for accurate data collection, feedback, and analysis.This position is the primary contact person for any issues related to the Statewide Trauma Program and has wide latitude and independent decision making responsibilities for the functions of the Statewide Trauma system.
Knowledge of trauma system components and their operational functions; experience in trauma care systems as a clinician (emergency care, critical care area, trauma team); principles of program development, program evaluation, consultation and the role of the consultant in providing technical assistance to a broad variety of agencies and individuals about program implementation, educational techniques, and research and analysis; data collection methodologies specifically, analysis and Performance Improvement Process Systems; ability to produce and disseminate public information and educational materials; provide strong leadership to the program and to maintain a sense of vision about the program benefits; establish and maintain effective working relationships with a wide variety of agencies and personnel on a statewide and national basis; communicate effectively orally and in writing; and proficient in Microsoft office programs such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.
