The Department of Health Services (DHS); Division of Public Health (DPH). We currently have one vacancy in Job Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Knowledge of the principles of oral, computer, and written communication skills; principles of inspection, enforcement, and public relations; epidemiological techniques relative to sampling, interviewing, and evaluating occurrences of suspected food, water, and airborne disease outbreaks, biological and chemical sciences relative to cause and effect relationships; vector control techniques and principles; communicable disease control techniques; water supply and waste disposal construction and installation principles consistent with environmental and public health principles; environmental health hazard investigation, sampling and abatement pertaining to lead, asbestos, radon, indoor air, solid waste, wastewater, drinking water, pest control, injury prevention, electromagnetic waves, etc.; environmental health statutes, codes, and standards; and computer programs such as Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Access, GroupWise, etc.Submit an Application for State Employment (OSER-DMRS-38); a current resume; proof of holding a current WI Registered Sanitarian, or National Registered Environmental Health Specialist (R.E.H.S.) certification or documentation of eligibility to be certified; and a paper limited to 2 pages describing your professional work experience and/or education, including your role and specific responsibilities related to: 1) conducting inspections and investigations of licensed facilities and establishments including restaurants, lodging and recreational facilities; and 2) providing environmental health consultation and technical assistance to licensed establishments, local health department staff and health officers or community members.
