This position is designated as a Career Executive position and is assigned to pay range 70-02. The starting salary, depending upon qualifications, ranges from $52,737 - $96,507. A two year trial probationary period may be required. A one time relocation incentive award may be available to qualified current state employees.
The DOT is recruiting for an Information Systems Supervisor 2 for our Deskside Services Unit located at the Hill Farms State Transportation Building in Madison. The register created from this recruitment may be used for additional future opportunities including an upcoming position in the Data Administration Unit. Job Duties:
This position is responsible for the overall management of professional information technology (IT) project leaders and staff working on IT projects related to and required for maximizing the availability and the cost effectiveness of corporate workstation hardware, system software and desktop support facilities throughout the state. The incumbent directs and manages assigned staff and project teams, negotiates timelines, participates in assessing portfolio candidate projects and provides workload estimates required to complete them. Position is responsible for development, dissemination, enforcement and advocacy of technical architecture standards, policies, procedures and guidelines related to the use of corporate LAN/WAN hardware and software deployment facilities, support tools, and architectures. In addition, position is responsible for the agency Computer Help desk responsible for managing overall IT problem call issues reported by staff throughout the department, managing Help Desk staff, providing technical assistance to computer system users and resolving computer problems for clients in person, via telephone or from remote location. The Deskside Services unit manages the overall workstation support facilities for DOT — including the tools used to leverage remote IT support for department staff across the state. The Unit configures, distributes, and installs new/upgraded/moved automation equipment and software. The unit also manages the selection, acquisition, testing, upgrade and configuration of the department’s standard workstation products (PC hardware, operating system, software distribution technology, electronic mail, etc.).
