Starting salary will be between $53,793 and $70,000 depending upon qualifications, plus excellent benefits. A six-month probationary period is required. This position is represented by the Wisconsin Professional Employees Council (WPEC). Pay schedule and range: 07-02.

If you have a strong auditing, accounting and financial background, as well as excellent research and interpersonal skills, apply now for this Auditor – Advanced position at the Department of Employee Trust Funds (ETF).  Experience auditing employee benefit plans is a plus. 

Job Duties:   

This position independently plans and performs very complex auditing duties in the areas of risk management, control and governance.  Work involves providing assurance and consulting services to management and maintaining ethical standards, which require the knowledge and application of professional accounting and auditing theories and principles, as well as knowledge of complex data analysis software tools. Much of the audit work involves working directly with Department Administrators and Bureau Directors.  Reports resulting from audit work are addressed to Department executive management and distributed to the Audit Committee of ETF’s governing board.

Special Notes:   

All applicants who may be appointed to this position will be required to allow the Department to conduct a background check. 

Job Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:   

Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills; auditing standards and procedures; internal, financial, accounting and administrative controls and methods of evaluating them; risk assessment methodology and evaluation including planning and development of audit projects; analytical and problem solving techniques; data validation techniques; software tools such as data analysis, spreadsheets, database and flowcharts (i.e. Access, Excel, audit software, such as ACL).
