Children and Families, Department of Policy Initiatives Advisor-Executive - Career Executive - Deadline ExtendedJob Announcement Code(s): 09-02600
The position manages departmental studies and policy issues that impact on children's programs, departmental operations, other agencies, private concerns, the public and substantial populations of affected citizens. It provides executive level liaison functions involving highly complex interactions and involvement with administrators and other executive level officials in government as well as executives and leaders from non-profit organizations and foundations. Job Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Knowledge of techniques and methodology used in: policy issue research, analysis and evaluation; analyzing human services policy options and the effect of those options on service recipients, service delivery systems and program administration; state budget/funding, legislative processes, as well as federal regulations and funding mechanisms governing human services program for children and families; project management principles and techniques used for large complex organizations at executive, management and line staff levels; system assessment to identify family and child strengths and needs to develop services, programs and structures to meet identified needs; consensus building, team building and group facilitation techniques; strong written and oral communications skills.
