This opportunity is being reannounced in order to fill anEngineering Tech-Trans-Senior project appointment in the Division of Transportation System Development’s Southwest Regional office in Madison.
Functioning as a technical expert in the testing, certification and compliance of materials used to construct the ARRA projects, this position is responsible for administering the quality assurance program on materials, as well as fixing and maintaining testing equipment. This position assists with training/directing WisDOT staff and others in testing procedures. Materials tested include cement concrete, asphalt, various steel reinforcing and fencing materials, paint and glass beads for pavement marking, metallic coatings of steel materials, water for concrete, and chloride content of concrete. The position also assists in the operation and maintenance of test equipment, instructing and demonstrating of test procedures for various materials, along with directing the activities of the chemical testing sub-unit.
