Type of Employment:	Full Time (40 hrs/week) Part Time (less than 40 hrs/week) Evening 2nd Shift (3pm to 11pm or similar hours) Evening 3rd Shift (11pm to 7am or similar hours) Seasonal (minimum of 600 hrs/year but less than 1828 hrs/year)
Salary:	Current starting pay for HVAC/Refrigeration Specialist is $16.218 and for the HVAC/Refrigeration Specialist Advanced is $18.916 or the starting pay as provided for in the WSEU Collective Bargaining Contract, if applicable at the time of appointment to the position. Pay schedule and range are 03-13 and 03-14. A six month probationary period is required.

There is currently a full-time vacancy for HVAC refrigeration Specialist-Advanced located at Jackson Correctional Institution (JCI), Black River Falls (Jackson County #27).

There is currently a 50% vacancy for HVAC/Refrigeration Specialist at UW-Stout, Menomonie (County #17), work schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon.

Online Exam Program: Applicants who wish to take the exam at other times, as part of an online testing project, may contact the Office of State Employment Relations and take the exam online in our office. See “How To Apply” below.  You may not apply on-line unless you are at the Office of State Employment Relations building in Madison or another proctored facility.  You may NOT apply from home.

Special Notes:   A criminal background check may be required prior to appointment.

Job Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:   Knowledge of operation, diagnostics, and maintenance of all equipment related to the above systems; job safety and occupational hazards common to equipment maintenance; computerized maintenance programs and equipment.

How To Apply:   A multiple-choice exam will be administered on Saturday, November 14, 2009 at 8:30 a.m. or at the Make-up Exam Center on Monday, November 16, 2009 at 5:00 p.m.
