Corrections, Department of IS Systems Development Services - Specialist - Business ConsultantJob Announcement Code(s): 09-03076
Serve as a liaison and business consultant for one or more DOC Divisions to organize strategic and annual plans related to IT. Understand the division, bureau and program area business needs and develop an enterprise-wide perspective. Work with business and IT leaders to shape IT services and connect IT resources to mission critical business initiatives and functions. The scope and latitude of activities for this position are very broad. Primary duties include: - Providing consulting expertise in coordinating project portfolios, gathering business priorities, defining project justifications, analyzing IT issues, and reaching decisions in a business context. - Utilizing your extensive knowledge and expertise in business process analysis, information systems, and project management. - Gaining an in-depth understanding of the business and the role state-of-the-art information technology plays in improving performance across business areas. - Leading communication and business partnership building activities that cross cultures of various business areas. Interaction with staff and personnel from all organizational levels and areas of expertise from within and outside of the department is essential. Applicants must be legally entitled to work in the United States (i.e., a citizen or national of the U.S., a lawful permanent resident, an alien authorized to work in the U.S. without DOC sponsorship) at the time of application. No contracts. The Department of Corrections will conduct criminal background checks on applicants prior to selection. Upon hire, all new DOC employees are subject to fingerprinting.
