This position is designated as a Career Executive position and is assigned to pay range 81-02. The annual starting salary, depending upon qualifications, ranges from $52,737 - $87,017. A two year Career Executive trial period may be required. A one time relocation incentive award may be available to qualified current state employees.

The Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT), is seeking a strong leader to manage their Bureau of Business Services' Purchasing, Fleet & Distribution Section. This position is located at the Hill Farms State Office Building at 4802 Sheboygan Avenue in Madison.
DOT is located on Madison's near-west side and offers low-cost parking, an on-site cafeteria and credit union, and plenty of nearby restaurants and shopping venues. In addition the State of WI has an extensive vanpool program traveling to/from many of the surrounding communities.
Direct the planning, execution and accountability for three programs—DOT Chapter 16 purchasing, DOT fleet services and DOT stores and distribution, including, emphasizing customer service, developing internal and external partnerships, and providing leadership to DOT in these areas, with a result of timely, efficient and cost-effective delivery of services.
Manage the activities of Purchasing Unit staff.
With the fleet and distribution supervisors, manage the fleet and distribution functions consistent with department needs and the rules and procedures of the department and the state enterprise.
Assist other Bureau managers in preparing plans, identifying future challenges and opportunities, organizing work, establishing accountability measures, and maintaining a positive, supportive work environment.
