The Great Lakes Bioenergy Research Center in the College of Agricultural and Life Sciences is currently recruiting for a Financial Specialist 2.   This position provides fiscal and purchasing support to faculty, students, and staff of the Department.  This recruitment is for this position only.  Watch Wiscjobs website for future Financial Specialist recruitments for the College of Agricultural and Life Sciences.    See the how to apply section of this announcement for exam information.

Job Duties:   This position is part of the Center's fiscal team and is responsible for processing financial transactions for the Center, identifying problems and corrections and providing general accounting support. This position requires maintaining relationships with and providing guidance to faculty and staff in financial and purchasing areas. Duties include processing charges and interdepartmental billings; analyzing, reviewing, coding and processing payment for all travel expense reports, payments to individuals and direct payments; maintaining excel spreadsheets; placing orders using the departmental credit card and keep abreast of current travel reimbursement procedures; advise faculty, staff, and students on travel policies and requirements; assist faculty and staff with travel arrangements; and provide other general support duties.  For a complete position description:  http://www.ohr.wisc.edu/WebListing/Classified/PDDetail.aspx?vacid=74361&title=00102

Job Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:   Basic accounting policies and procedures; purchasing rules and regulations; travel policies and procedures; financial reporting skills, record keeping and filing practices; experience with spreadsheet and word processing software programs; ability to organize and manage multiple priorities at the same time and meet deadlines; excellent interpersonal skills; ability to be creative, flexible, and self motivated.
