The starting salary is between $85,426 and $102,512 per year, plus excellent benefits. The pay schedule/range is 15/02. A 6-month probationary period will be required. This position is represented by the Wisconsin Science Professionals Bargaining Unit.

This position requires license or eligibility for licensure to practice Pharmacy in the State of Wisconsin.

The Department of Health Services (DHS); Division of Long Term Care (DLTC); Central Wisconsin Center (CWC) for the Developmentally Disabled in Madison.

Job Duties:   This position will monitor and make recommendations regarding resident medication therapies; provide pharmaceutical information to health care professionals and residents/guardians; review medication orders for various information; compound and dispense extemporaneous preparations; provide final checks to ensure accuracy of medication orders; and direct and oversee the pharmacy technician.

Special Notes:   Due to the nature of the position, all applicants who may be appointed to this position will be required to allow the Department of Health and Family Services to conduct a background check to determine whether the circumstances of any conviction may be related to the job being filled.

Job Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:   Knowledge of medical terminology and pharmaceutical properties of drugs and chemicals for compounding, storage and distribution. Ability to communicate medical terminology; understand and execute all State and Federal Regulations involving pharmaceuticals and pharmaceutical care; interact effectively and efficiently; dispense accurate prescriptions; understand and maintain resident profiles; accurately perform final checks on medication orders; instruct and work with subordinates; and understand and maintain accurate pharmaceutical records.
