The starting salary is between $59,457 and $63,111 per year (full-time) based on prior experience in the designated discipline, plus excellent benefits. The pay schedule/range is 11/40. A 6-month probationary period may be required. This position is represented by the Service Employees International Union bargaining unit.
Special Qualifications:
Must possess licensure as a Registered Nurse in the State of Wisconsin or licensure from another state with reciprocity.

This position is located in the Department of Health Services (DHS); Division of Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services (DMHSAS); Sand Ridge Secure Treatment Center (SRSTC) in Mauston.  For additional information about Sand Ridge Secure Treatment Center, please visit the following web site: http://www.dhfs.wisconsin.gov/sandridge.

Job Duties:   This position provides skilled nursing care to patients; provides patient assessment and treatment; manages medications; assists the physician in providing medical services; provides emergency care; maintains treatment records; and plans educational programming for staff and patients.

Special Notes:   Due to the nature of the position, all applicants who may be appointed will be required to allow the Department of Health Services to conduct a security check to determine whether the circumstances of any conviction may be related to the job being filled.

Job Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:   Knowledge of current general nursing theory; process and nursing standards; methods of assessment and identification of health care needs; ability to make pertinent visual observations; and the ability to comprehend and retain specialized vocabulary and abbreviations.
