The University of Wisconsin - Milwaukee is seeking to fill a part-time (50%) Financial Specialist 3 position in the Human Resources Department of the Division of Academic Affairs. Job Duties:   Under the general supervision of the Director of Human Resources, this position performs the fiscal duties of the Human Resources Department and is responsible for estimating, developing, and controlling a departmental budget of approximately $1.2 million. Duties include processing time reports and leave accounting; coordinating travel and travel reimbursements; auditing payment invoices and WISDM transactions; and producing financial reports. In addition, this position is responsible for maintaining inventory and records of equipment and supplies; auditing and reconciling bookkeeping records in WISDM; and processing and documenting all accounts payables, accounts receivables, and bill payments.

Job Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:   This position requires excellent written and verbal communication skills, advanced knowledge of office management practices, and the ability to provide excellent customer service in a professional manner. The individual hired to this position will be able to analyze fiscal data; work independently; think logically and exercise good judgment; manage multiple tasks in a face-paced environment; compile, organize, aggregate and evaluate information; and interpret rules, regulations, policies and procedures. Critical to success in this position are knowledge of budget planning, procurement policies, and fiscal control. Skill in the use of the Microsoft Office Suite and email applications is also required for this position.
