The Department of Natural Resources currently has an opening as Customer Service Representative Lead to work in the downtown Madison, Call Center location.  This position requires Night & Weekend hours; working four, 10-hour days in a calendar week (Sunday - Saturday).  Scheduled hours will be 11:30am - 10:00pm every Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday of every week with alternating weekend hours (e.g. work both Saturday and Sunday one week then the next weekend is off).

Job Duties:   

This position has primary responsibility for providing customer service and leading staff in providing information and direct services to external and internal customers on a full range of DNR programs.  This position is a spokesperson for the Bureaus of Customer Service and Licensing and Law Enforcement in administering boat, snowmobile and all terrain vehicle (ATV) registration programs. This work involves the independent application of program knowledge and the interpretation and application of state statutes, administrative codes and department policies and procedures as well as decision-making on behalf of professional or administrative staff and seeking/linking professional staff assistance where necessary to complete service delivery. This position delivers quality customer service by applying knowledge of department policies.

A criminal background check will be required.

Job Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:   Assist customers in completing application materials, computing appropriate fees. Process appropriate payments. Ensure sound financial and cash handling practices in accordance with department policy. Work involves leading staff in the application and delivery of established program policies and procedures. Assist in scheduling, evaluating and training staff. Make recommendations to improve operational efficiency and effectiveness.
