The Department of Corrections administers A Center Superintendent has the overall responsibility for the operation and administration of the Correctional Center/Facility. The incumbent plans, organizes and directs all activities including business management, security, treatment, rehabilitation, and general services in a multi-phase community centered facility. He/She will supervise staff and promote and maintain community liaison activities and will be required to perform a variety of tasks within the Center as needed, including managing emergency situations such as escapes and disturbances. At this time we have a current vacancy at Gordon Correctional Center in Gordon (Douglas County). The register created from this recruitment will be used to fill any future Center Superintendent vacancies Statewide for at least the next 6 months. Interested current Career Executives must also apply at this time to be placed on the consideration list. Job Duties:
Applicants must be legally entitled to work in the United States (i.e., a citizen or national of the U.S., a lawful permanent resident, an alien authorized to work in the U.S. without DOC sponsorship) at the time of application. The Department of Corrections will conduct criminal background checks on applicants prior to selection. Upon hire, all new DOC employees are subject to fingerprinting. Incumbent will be on-call on a 24 hour day basis and will perform on-call duties on weekends and holidays and during non-business hours as required. Job Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
