Type of Employment:
Full Time (40 hrs/week)
Part Time (less than 40 hrs/week)
Evening 2nd Shift (3pm to 11pm or similar hours)
Evening 3rd Shift (11pm to 7am or similar hours)
Seasonal (minimum of 600 hrs/year but less than 1828 hrs/year)
Salary:
Current starting pay for Facilities Repair Worker is $12.892 and Facilities Repair Worker - Advanced is $15.021 or the starting pay as provided for in the WSEU Collective Bargaining Contract, if applicable at the time of appointment to the position. Pay schedule and range are 03-10 and 03-11. A six month probationary period is required.

NOTE:  Pre-registration is required for this exam.  Please read the instructions in the "How to Apply" section below.

The employment register established from this register will be used to staff current and future vacancies statewide.

Job Duties:   Perform various tasks related to the maintenance and repair of buildings and some repair of related mechanical systems; grounds maintenance and repair; building cleaning and janitorial duties.

Special Notes:   A criminal background check may be required prior to appointment.

Job Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:   Basic understanding of building construction/repair concepts/techniques; mechanical repair and maintenance principles; janitorial and cleaning techniques.

How To Apply:   A multiple-choice exam will be administered on Saturday, August 14, 2010 at 8:30 a.m. or at the Make-up Exam Center on Monday, August 16, 2010 at 5:00 p.m.

Pre-registration is required.  To register on-line, select "Log in to Apply" or "Apply Now", you will either log in to your account or create a new account if you do not have one.  The registration process will require you to do the following: 
• Verify your personal information including e-mail address (select continue at the bottom of the page);
• Select your job preferences (select continue at the bottom of the page); and
• Indicate your preferences where you would take the exam (select save and continue to save your response then save and finalize to finalize the exam).

After you complete the pre-registration process, you will receive a confirmation via either e-mail, if you provided an e-mail address or U.S. mail if you did not provide an e-mail address. Note:  If you do not receive a confirmation notice, please contact the Employment Services Center at ESC@wisconsin.gov or (608) 266-1731. 

If you are unable to pre-register on-line, contact the pre-registration phone line at (608) 266-1536, please make sure you allow ample time to receive and return your application material by the deadline date.  (On-line registration is preferred).

Note:  The deadline for pre-registration is Monday, August 9, 2010 .  If application material is not received in our office by this date or if you have not pre-registered, you are not guaranteed an exam booklet.

Reuse and Retest:  The exam score reuse time period is one year; please read the section called "EXAM SCORE REUSE". Please check the dates listed in your job cart in www.wisc.jobs. You may reuse your score from the exam taken within the last year If you took this exam within the last six months, you are not eligible to retake it this month. The make-up center date is considered the same as the Saturday exam date for reuse and retest purposes.
