Evening 2nd Shift (3pm to 11pm or similar hours)
Evening 3rd Shift (11pm to 7am or similar hours)
Seasonal (minimum of 600 hrs/year but less than 1828 hrs/year)
Salary:
Starting pay is $12.892 per hour for Corrections Food Service Leader 1 (PR03-10), $12.892 per hour for Food Service Assistant 3 (PR03-10), and $13.913 per hour for Food Service Assistant 4 (PR03-11). A six-month probationary period is required.

The employment register created from this recruitment will be used to staff vacancies which may occur during the next six months.

Job Duties:   As a leadworker, coordinate a food service distribution unit or guide activities in a centralized dish room. Guide and assist others setting up a servery, making sandwiches and short order items; assemble special diet trays; oversee clean-up; order supplies; maintain records; train new employees and assign work to subordinates.

Special Notes:   Some positions may require criminal background checks.

Job Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:   Sanitation principles, health hazards, food preparation; care and use of food service equipment; leadworker principles; record keeping and reporting techniques; communication and customer relations skills.

How To Apply:   A multiple-choice exam will be administered on Saturday, August 14, 2010 at 8:30 a.m. or at the Make-up Exam Center on Monday, August 16, 2010 at 5:00 p.m.

Note:  Creating a job cart is not pre-registering to take the exam. The registration process will require you to do the following:



  • Verify your personal information including e-mail address for accuracy (select continue at the bottom of the page);

  • Select your job preferences (select continue at the bottom of the page); and

  • Indicate your preferences where you would take the exam (select save and continue to save your response then save and finalize to finalize the exam).
After you complete the on-line pre-registration process, you will receive a confirmation immediately via e-mail, if you provided an e-mail address.  If you do not provide an e-mail address, you will need to write down your Wisc.Jobs Applicant ID number and bring it with you to the exam center.  Note:  If you do not receive a confirmation notice, please contact the Employment Services Center at ESC@wisconsin.gov or (608) 266-1731 before the registration deadline date.  We are not responsible for undeliverable e-mails or incomplete registrations.

If you are unable to pre-register on-line, contact the pre-registration phone line at (608) 266-1536.  Please make sure you allow ample time to receive and return your application material by the deadline date.  (On-line registration is preferred).

Note:  The deadline for pre-registration is August 9, 2010.  If application material is not received or if you have not pre-registered by that date, you will not be able to test.


Reuse: The exam score reuse period is one year; please read the section called "EXAM SCORE REUSE".  You may reuse your score, if you took this exam on or after September 12, 2009.

Retest:  You are not eligible to retest, if you took the exam on or after March 13, 2010. The Monday make-up center date is considered the same as the Saturday exam date for reuse and retest purposes.
