Job Duties:The IS Systems Development Services Senior position is responsible for providing a combination of object-oriented analysis, java programming and mobile/web developments. This position will be responsible for working with a combination of project leaders, systems analysts, application programmers, customers and management, and will be responsible for working on projects with a significant departmental and cross-organizational/agency impact. This position is also responsible for analyzing and developing java code for multi-media and multi-platform systems and projects, and will be responsible for assisting with the integration and revision of major systems. The IS Systems Development Services Specialist provides advanced system analysis and technical design for complex projects which have a significant departmental impact, that cross organization and/or agency lines, and involve interaction with other project leaders, systems analysts, application programmers, customers and management. Duties include reviewing business case documentation, the development of web and mobile web design solutions, and providing leadership to fellow IT professionals on a variety of projects that cover multiple platforms and systems. Both positions will be responsible for maintaining high quality standards regarding departmental and statewide architectures, methodologies and policies, and they will be responsible for providing leadership to IT professionals on the adaptation and use of new development tools and methodologies. Prior to any appointments for position(s) filled from this announcement, candidates will be subject to a comprehensive criminal background check, which may include FBI fingerprinting. Job Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Knowledge and skills in developing java applications for highly complex application development efforts across multiple platforms. Knowledge and skills designing highly usable mobile friendly web applications. Skills as a java developer using J2EE development standards including model-view-controller design implementations, integration technologies and Internet security techniques. Skills to identify and document significant software architecture decisions including requirements, design, implementation and deployment elements following standard practices. Skill to build applications that are compliant with department data, process, and application architecture standards and legal mandates. Knowledge and skills in working with professional IS staff to provide analysis and design solutions and web development expertise for highly complex application development efforts across multiple platforms. Knowledge and skills to lead and/or complete web and mobile web development efforts using advanced iterative development methods, reuse strategies, and object oriented analysis and design methods. Skills using jQuery, HTML 5, CSS and other mobile technologies.
