The Wisconsin Department of Health Services (DHS) is currently recruiting to fill a Custodian position at Southern Wisconsin Center (SWC) in Union Grove, WI. This position offers a top-rate benefits package including a state retirement plan and excellent health insurance.

SWC provides a wide variety of programs and services designed to assist and prepare individuals to live successfully in the setting that best meets their needs. Located in southern Wisconsin near Union Grove, SWC brings together a rich history and state of the art treatment approaches for the new millennium.

We are currently filling both a full-time position and part-time positions. Part-time schedule will be 2:30pm to 8:30pm with every 3rd weekend off. Weekend hours will be 6:45am to 12:45pm. LTE hours are 6:45am to 3:15pm OR 2:30pm to 8:30pm (depending on operational needs).

Position Summary:   

Under the general supervision of the Custodial Services Supervisor, performs manual work such as sweeping, snow shoveling, mopping, stripping, and waxing floors to maintain the work area in a clean, sanitary condition.

Special Notes:   Due to the nature of the position, all applicants who may be appointed to this position will be required to allow the Department of Health Services to conduct a background check to determine whether the circumstances of any conviction may be related to the job being filled.


A Minimally qualified candidate will have:
-Must be able to work outside in various weather conditions as it becomes necessary.
-Must be able to work inside in various environments.
-Ability to work weekends and holidays and occasional overtime or extra hours.
-Ability to lift and carry a maximum of 55 pounds

A well-qualified candidate will have:
-Previous experience and/or knowledge of Custodial duties.
