Pay will be set at $11 - $12 per hour depending on experience, plus $0.45 per hour for evenings after 6 PM and $0.60 per hour for Saturday and Sunday work. You will be paid at time and one half for any hours worked on holidays.

The Department of Natural Resources (DNR) has a great opportunity for anyone looking for full time, flexible hours.  These position are limited term employment.  The duration is approximately May 15, 2017 thru September 4, 2017.

Position Summary:   

Visitor Services Associates will be hired to work at Visitor Stations throughout Wisconsin. The home stations will be at Clear Lake Ranger Station in Woodruff; Crystal Lake Ranger Station in Sayner; or Trout Lake Forestry Headquarters in Boulder Junction. These positions will last in duration from approximately mid-May until Labor Day. Certain positions may last longer into the fall.

65% Greet visitors, collect and account for fees and disseminate information. Work at ranger stations, campgrounds or other visitor contact stations. Use electronic cash registers, electronic credit card verification equipment and computerized reservation and reporting systems. Issue admission receipts in accordance with established guidelines. 

25% Provide answers to visitor questions concerning the specific forest area, as well as explain the area's recreational opportunities, interpretive services, and campground availability. Distribute brochures and maps and provide directions/routes of travel throughout the forest; inform visitors of potential safety hazards.

10% Remitting monies collected, fiscal and inventory record keeping. NOTE: Due to the fiduciary responsibilities of this position, a background check will be conducted.

Special Notes:   This is a limited term (LTE) position.  Limited term positions do not automatically lead to or enjoy the same benefits as permanent employment, but this position does offer valuable work experience and an opportunity to learn more about career opportunities with the Department of Natural Resources and the State of Wisconsin.  LTE employees are limited to working 1039 hours within a twelve-month period.
