Hourly rate between $11.00-$12.00 depending on experience, plus $0.45 per hour for evenings after 6 PM, and $0.60 per hour for Saturday and Sunday work. You will be paid at time and one half for any hours worked on holidays.

The Division of Forestry is hiring Facilities Repair Workers to perform maintenance tasks in public use areas throughout the state forest. Perform maintenance tasks in public use areas throughout the state forest. Tasks will include daily cleaning of campground toilet facilities, painting, lawn mowing, carpentry, brush cutting, picking up litter, cleaning fire rings, cutting hazard trees and repairing picnic tables and other miscellaneous maintenance duties. Construct and repair trails, boarding docks, boat ramps and bulletin boards. Conduct safety inspections and identify hazards. 40% Perform facility maintenance, to include daily cleaning of campground toilet facilities, painting, picking up litter, cleaning fire rings, and repairing picnic tables.
30% Operate and maintain equipment such as mowers, weed trimmers, blowers and hand held power tools, to include chainsaw for cutting hazard trees. Training in chainsaw use and safety as well as CPR/First Aid will be provided.
30% Construct and repair trails, boarding docks, boat ramps and bulletin boards. Conduct safety inspections and identify hazards.
This is a limited term (LTE) position. Limited term positions do not automatically lead to or enjoy the same benefits as permanent employment, but this position does offer valuable work experience and an opportunity to learn more about career opportunities with the Department of Natural Resources and the State of Wisconsin. LTE employees are limited to working 1039 hours within a twelve-month period.
Ability to work on a team. Ability to follow work plans with minimal oversight. Ability to use equipment to complete work tasks, i.e. mowers, trimmers, hand-held tools, chains saw, with provided training.
