Join a team of industry professionals working to prepare offenders to work in the Metal Production Industry after release.  The Bureau of Correctional Enterprise, a division of Adult Institutions, works to train and education offenders in modern industry skills through on the job training.  These learned skills and related work experiences will contribute to their personal and professional development and eventually their successful return to their communities.


We are currently looking for a Metal Industries Production Manager for the Waupun Correctional Institution metal shop.

Position Summary:   

The Metal Industries Production Manger provides the management of the BSI Metal Products production facility, with the direct responsibility for planning, performance, production control, engineering, purchasing, budgeting, and bid and specification package development. 

Special Notes:    Applicants must be legally entitled to work in the United States (i.e., a citizen or national of the U.S., a lawful permanent resident, an alien authorized to work in the U.S. without DOC sponsorship) at the time of application.  The Department of Corrections will conduct criminal background checks on applicants prior to selection.  Upon hire, all new DOC employees are subject to fingerprinting. 

Qualifications:   

A minimally qualified applicant will have training and experience in:


  • Metal fabrication and machining equipment

  • Shop and employee management, including production scheduling, inventory control and project costing

  • CADD, programming and operation of CNC equipment
