Starting pay is between $72,800 and $88,400 annually ($35 - $42.50 per hour). Pay on appointment for current or former state employees may vary based on the applicable provisions in the State Compensation Plan. This position is in Pay Schedule/Range 81-02.

The Business Support & Information Technology Section Chief will be stationed in Madison.

This position leads, directs and administers all policy, budget, personnel, owner financial responsibility, information technology and communication activities within the Business Support and Information Technology (BSIT) Section in the Waste and Materials Management (WA) Program, Division of Environmental Management (EM). Section chief positions within the Division are expected to perform their duties in service to the entire Division and with the full scope of the Waste and Materials Management program in mind.
This position is responsible for developing, directing, coaching, mentoring and supervising permanent and LTE staff. This position serves on management teams and is expected to be an active contributor. This position is a member of the EM Division’s Business Services Team. Customer and partner groups may include DNR staff, citizens, citizen groups, industry leaders, tribal governments, and governmental and educational representatives.
