The Department of Natural Resources is hiring two (2) Technical Support Analysts stationed in Madison.

The Wisconsin DNR is located at 101 S. Webster Street in the heart of downtown Madison, near the state capitol, the Madison Metro bus route and the Capital City bike path. In addition, there are tons of nearby restaurants and shopping venues.  In partnership with individuals and organizations, the DNR staff manage fish, wildlife, forests, parks, air, and water resources while promoting a healthy, sustainable environment and a full range of outdoor activities.

Position Summary:   

This position is to support the Windows 10 and Office 365 enterprise rollout for the DNR, and the existing Windows 7 & Office 2010 environment. Duties and responsibilities will include: Providing either rollout support and assistance, or handling day to day support duties related to this. The candidates can expect to work as part of many different teams serving multiple programs within the DNR.

The Technical Support Analysts will provide support to the programs and divisions within the DNR to assist with Windows 10 & Office 365. This may include but is not limited to: migrating user data from previous installation to storage device, performing Windows 10 Enterprise and Office 365 installation via standard documented processes, assisting with data re-migration and configuring and completing post migration tasks.

The positions will also be providing technical support services to existing environment (Windows 7 & Office 2010), to allow programs to execute their migrations as needed. This includes tasks such as desktop and technical support to PC's, software and hardware configuration, backups and restores and general support as needed.

Special Notes:   

This is a limited term (LTE) position.  Limited term positions do not automatically lead to or enjoy the same benefits as permanent employment, but this position does offer valuable work experience and an opportunity to learn more about career opportunities with the Department of Natural Resources and the State of Wisconsin.  LTE employees are limited to working 1039 hours within a twelve-month period. In order to be considered for this position, you must be a resident of the State of Wisconsin.

Qualifications:   

Minimum Qualifications:

- Experience with Windows 10 operating system, and Office 365 (2016 versions)
- Experience supporting a broad range of customers in a diverse and expansive environment
- Documenting and monitoring service requests and incidents
- Experience providing quality customer service and the ability to communicate technical information to both technical and non-technical staff.
- Experience troubleshooting computer and telecommunications issues and resolving or triaging as necessary
