The Department of Natural Resources is hiring a Laborer (full and part-time positions available) stationed in Yellowstone Lake State Park, located at 8495 Lake Road, Blanchardville, Wisconsin.

Position Summary:   

This position will have a variety of responsibilities, including the following: Clean and maintain day use areas including beach, picnic areas, shelters and amphitheater, boat landings. Includes daily building cleaning, mowing, litter pickup, cleaning picnic grills. Clean and maintain campgrounds including family sites, group sites, and walk to sites. Includes daily building cleaning, mowing, litter pickup, and cleaning fire rings. Perform general grounds and trail maintenance including mowing, brushing, trimming. Install signs, paint/repair picnic tables and haul garbage. Other Assigned Duties & Equipment Maintenance including perform preventative maintenance on park equipment. Operate vehicles including trucks and UTV. May include minor plumbing, carpentry work, and electrical duties. Wear required uniform and be a positive representative of the Department.

Special Notes:   

This is a limited term (LTE) position.  Limited term positions do not automatically lead to or enjoy the same benefits as permanent employment, but this position does offer valuable work experience and an opportunity to learn more about career opportunities with the Department of Natural Resources and the State of Wisconsin.  LTE employees are limited to working 1039 hours within a twelve-month period. In order to be considered for this position, you must be a resident of the State of Wisconsin.

Qualifications:   

Required Qualifications:
- Ability to work outside in difficult weather conditions
- Due to equipment usage, candidate must have a valid operator's license, minimum of 2 years licensed driving experience and must be at least 18 years of age
- Duties will be performed with coworkers and independently, candidate must be able to work alone with minimal supervision
- Skills in general and preventive maintenance duties including janitorial, grounds work and painting

Preferred Qualifications:
- Training or experience in vehicle operations including 4-wheel drive, manual transmissions, tractors, dump-trucks
- Experience using hand and power tools including chainsaws
