The Department of Military Affairs has an immediate opening for a Groundskeeper Limited Term Employee (LTE).  This position is located at Fort McCoy, WI.

Position Summary:   This position is responsible for general grounds maintenance and upkeep at Fort McCoy and other Area 3 facilities. Completes minor maintenance and repair activities on grounds related equipment. Completes all required preventative maintenance functions and meets all interval requirements. Maintains adequate inventory supplies, materials, and equipment to accomplish all job-related duties. On occasion will provide support for maintenance requirements at other DMA facilities.

Special Notes:   This is a Limited Term Employment (LTE) position, which can only work up to 1040 hours in a 12 month period. LTE positions are not considered permanent civil service employment, and therefore not entitled to certain benefits. However, LTE positions provide great work experience that may help appointees acquire the knowledge and skills necessary for future efforts in competing for permanent positions.

Qualifications:   Aptitude and inclination to recognize and work with mechanical, physical, and spatial relationships and concepts; proper techniques for safe use of common hand tools, cleaning equipment, mowers and power tools; proper techniques and safe practices for maintenance operations and minor repairs to building components, lawn mowers, and other mechanical equipment.
