The Department of Natural Resources is hiring Business Support Coordinators in the Program & Policy Analyst - Advanced classification within our External Services Division.  These positions may be stationed in Madison, Green Bay, Milwaukee, or Waukesha.

Position Summary:   This position is a statewide Business Support Coordinator, with responsibility for administering the Department’s non-regulatory Green Tier program and providing policy guidance to the Department on proactive engagement practices with Wisconsin’s business community. The Coordinator will produce a biannual report to the legislature documenting the progress of the Green Tier program, advising businesses on the specific provisions of the Green Tier law and how to recognize the benefits of participation. Further support of Green Tier will be provided by managing current participants, recruitment of new businesses as well as negotiations of contracts. A focus for this position will be measurement of program performance, goals, and policy development to ensure continuous improvement. As an active member of an Area Support Team, this position will conduct trainings, represent the Sustainability and Business Support program and address any policy interpretations and policy implementation questions the regional management and staff have about Green Tier. This position will also support the voluntary Environmental Compliance Audit Program through communication efforts and applicant coaching.

The position will work closely with DNR regulatory programs and customers to assist new or expanding businesses when serving as a coordinator for general or complex business projects. A focus of the position will be relationship development and maintenance with State and local economic development professionals.

The coordinator will be responsible for researching, analyzing, and convening topic experts to evaluate emerging business trends and/or government-to-government streamlining options. Residing in the Sustainability and Business Support section, the Coordinator will support the Department’s Small Business Environmental Assistance Program with assessment of practices and guidance from business experts. This position will be the point person for relaying the information to Department leadership, through recommendations for future policies or agency position papers.

Qualifications:   To be considered for this position, required qualifications include:
1. Experience interpreting policies
2. Experience analyzing and gathering stakeholder data (e.g. environmental performance, industry barriers, air/ waste/ water quality)

In addition, preferred qualifications include:
1. Experience with an Environmental Management System (i.e. ISO14000)
2. Experience interpreting environmental policies
3. Systems auditing experience
