The Department of Natural Resources (DNR) is currently filling an Environmental Program Associate within our Environmental Management Division. This position has the opportunity to be located in either Park Falls or Spooner, WI.

Position Summary:   This person will provide program support for the regional Drinking Water and Groundwater program in the administration of the rules and policies of the Safe Drinking Water Act. This position provides first-line contact for the public requiring detailed knowledge of administrative codes and federal rules as they pertain to water supply systems. Duties include interpreting results and reports for Total Coliform Rule (bacteriological) and water chemistry monitoring; identifying violations on results or reports and the action necessary to correct violations; initiating first response to water system owners or operators when unsafe conditions occur; and directing and guiding public notification requirements. Special Notes:   Employment will require the selected candidate to pass a background check. DNR does not sponsor work visas, thus, in compliance with federal law, all persons hired will be required to verify eligibility to work in the United States by completing the required I-9 form upon hire.

Qualifications:   To be considered, required qualifications include education, training, or experience with:
- Administrative skills (e.g. data entry, organizing files, drafting letters)
- Customer service
- Computer operation skills (e.g. Microsoft Office programs, database operation, Windows systems, etc).

Preferred qualifications include education, training, or experience with:
- Working as a part of a project team
- Interpreting state and federal administrative codes or regulatory experience
- Computer troubleshooting skills (e.g. editing, programming, database management, etc.)
