Starting salary will be between $19.19 and $29.99 per hour, depending on qualifications, plus excellent benefits. Current state employee's pay will be determined in accordance with the Wisconsin Compensation Plan. This classification is assigned to the pay schedule/range 06-63.

Position Summary:   

These positions provide construction, maintenance and repair support for a wide range of predominately high power Radio Frequency electronic equipment and systems for the ECB including DTV, Broadcast Interconnect, EAS, AMBER, FM, State/Federal All Hazards Radio, satellite downlink systems, and Wisconsin Public Radio facilities. These positions will be expected to progressively develop technical expertise in analysis, design, and modification of content distribution systems, media interconnect systems, and associated RF analog and digital program delivery and transmission monitoring equipment.

Occasional Standby or on-call status and overnight work may be required.

Qualifications:   Qualified applicants will have the following:

  • Experience in broadcasting, including distribution, transmission and remote control of television and radio distribution networks

  • Experience with high power radio frequency systems

  • Ability to manage and supervise tower maintenance activities

    • In addition, well-qualified applicants will also have the following:
    • Experience working with and interpreting diagrams and electrical prints

    • Ability to troubleshoot issues in broadcasting technology and radio frequency systems
