The Department of Natural Resources is hiring Air Management Engineer Coordinators in the Air Management Engineer - Advanced classification within our Environmental Management Division.  These positions may be stationed at any regional office within the state provided there is office space available, with travel to the Central Office (Madison).

Position Summary:   This position will primarily develop statewide program policy and measures ensuring consistency. The incumbent will take the initiative to creatively work with others using communication and negotiation skills in service to the public and to the affected businesses. The position requires an engineering approach to policy analysis and problem solving. The position works with departmental teams, the public, representatives from affected business, local officials, other state agencies, and the federal government to accomplish assigned goals. The position may travel frequently throughout the state and upon short notice. Frequency may decrease as coordinators gain experience.

Special Notes:   Employment will require the selected candidate to pass a background check.  DNR does not sponsor work visas, thus, in compliance with federal law, all persons hired will be required to verify eligibility to work in the United States by completing the required I-9 form upon hire. The position may travel frequently throughout the state and upon short notice.

Qualifications:   To apply for these positions, you must meet at least one of the requirements below:
-A degree in an Engineering field from a recognized college or university upon the position start date;
A specific record, issued by the professional engineering section of the Department of Safety and Professional Services, showing 4 years or more of experience in engineering work of a character satisfactory to the professional engineering section and satisfactory completion of the fundamentals of engineering exam;
-Registration as a Wisconsin Professional Engineer (PE) by the Department of Safety and Professional Services (DSPS);
-OR have a specific record issued by DSPS validating equivalent professional training and practical experience so as to be deemed a professional engineer as defined in Department of Safety and Professional Services per s. 443.01, Wis. Stats. AND also deemed to be qualified to engage in professional engineering practice as determined by the Department of Safety and Professional Services per s. 443.04 or 443.05, Wis. Stats.

To be considered for this position, required qualifications include:
1. Air management experience or training

In addition to the required qualifications, preferred qualifications include:
1. Leadership experience
2. Regulatory policy experience
