The Department of Public Instruction, Wisconsin School for the Deaf (WSD) is currently seeking full-time school year (88%) Teachers. This position is located at 309 W. Walworth Avenue, Delavan.
WSD operates a residential school for children ages three to twenty-one with deafness and/or hard of hearing. The school provides academic and career education on site. The school also offers instructional and technical assistance, teaching materials and evaluations of pupils to local school districts and other agencies. A sign-on bonus of $2,000 will be offered to eligible employees.
This position provides classroom instruction to K-12 deaf children and/or multiple handicapped deaf children. This includes planning and supervising extra-curricular activities as contracted for in a residential school. Instruction includes preparation of materials and planning outside of class time as well as individual and group instruction during assigned work hours.
An American Sign Language Proficiency Interview rating of level 2+ upon hire and a level 3 by the end of probation is required.
The selection process for this position will include a criminal background check.
