The Wisconsin Department of Veterans Affairs currently has 2 Limited Term Employment (LTE) positions available for Motor Vehicle Operator (Light) to assist in transporting members to appointments.

We are looking for drivers to safely transport our members to medical appointments, meetings, etc., in the day and evening hours and some weekends.
Duties include transporting member and equipment to and from appointments using a state fleet vehicle. A Driver will ensure the safe delivery of members and their paperwork to providers, conducting inspection of vehicle for safety and cleanliness and have the ability to secure motorized and manual wheelchairs.
A valid Wisconsin driver's license and the ability to meet regulations for driving a State of Wisconsin fleet vehicle is required.
Due to the nature of the position, WDVA will conduct background checks on applicants prior to an offer of employment.
Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States (i.e., a citizen or national of the U.S., a lawful permanent resident, alien authorized to work in the U.S. without WDVA sponsorship) at the time of application.
Employment in this position is contingent upon passing a pre-employment physical and tuberculosis (TB) test.
Per Wisconsin Statute 230.26, Wisconsin residency is required for LTE appointments.
Minimally-qualified applicants will have: Ability to demonstrate knowledge and skill in safe driving practices
Good communication skills
Be able to travel for long periods of time as needed
Well-qualified candidates will have: Knowledge of regulations, standards and practices related to HIPAA
Be skilled in organizing and prioritizing workload
Possess the ability to work with a geriatric population with a variety of health issues and cognitive difficulties
