Customer Service Representative ($13.50-$14.50/hour): Full-time; Respond to routine inquiries from taxpayers related to WI income tax returns and earned income/homestead credits; interpret information found on internal tax systems, forms and publications to accurately respond to customer inquires. Training is provided. Spanish and Hmong speaking applicants are encouraged to apply. Qualifications: ability to sit and wear a telephone head-set and answer calls up to 8 hours/day; basic computer skills and ability to learn new computer software; keyboarding skills; effective verbal and written communication skills and good customer service techniques. Approximate duration: January-May(M-F,8:00am-4:30pm)
Data Entry ($11 - $13/hour): Enter data, from a variety of documents, into the processing system using a standard keyboard. Verify data from scanned documents in the system, checking for accuracy and make corrections if necessary. Attention to detail and good eye-hand coordination. Must be able to sit for an extended period of time; while reviewing and keying the onscreen data. Qualifications: Time management skills and the ability to work independently; accuracy; comparison skills; ability to type 45 words per minute/6000 key strokes alphanumeric; keyboarding skills; ability to work in a fast-paced, production environment. Approximate duration: January-May.
Scanner Operator ($11-13/hour): Scan tax documents into the system. Training on how to operate scanners and maintain records will be provided. Scanning Support: Make batches of documents ready for scanning by squaring up unorganized stacks of tax returns in a paper jogging machine. Training on how to operate jogger will be provided. Move boxes of work to and from shelves as needed. Qualifications: Ability to both stand and sit for extended periods of time; Ability to lift 25lbs; Ability to handle vibration and noise. Approximate duration: January-May.
Mail Opener/Mail Reviewer ($11.25-$11.75/hour): Duties include opening, organizing, and prepping Income Tax returns for scanning. Qualifications: Ability to sit for long periods of time with some twisting to process work; ability to handle repetitive work. Approximate duration: December-May (M-F, 7:30am-4:00pm).
Laborer ($11.50-$12.00/hour): Laborer duties for the mail room include picking orders, packing, and shipping forms orders. Laborer duties also include slicing, sorting, delivering incoming mail, picking up tax returns prepped for scanning, sorting these forms into boxes, and then taking the boxes to scanning. Qualifications: Ability to stand on your feet and walk for most of the day; ability to lift up to 40lbs; ability to push and pull heavy mail carts; ability to handle repetitive work. Approximate duration: December-May (M-F, 7:30am-4:00pm).
Tax Representative 2, Tax Operations - Income Tax ($13.50-$14.50): Review and resolve suspended income tax returns and payments for identified errors, and issue letters requesting additional information to resolve suspended returns. Review responses to requests for information and resolve suspended returns. Create payment for checks received. Qualifications: Verbal and written communication skills; intermediate computer skills; researching skills; self-motivated; ability to switch between tasks; and ability to work in a team atmosphere. Approximate duration: February-July (Minimum 30hrs/week required).
Tax Representative 2, Tax Operations -Business Tax ($13.50-14.50/hour): Processing suspended business tax and information returns and payments, and respond to incoming mail. Qualifications: Verbal and written communication skills; intermediate computer skills; researching skills; self-motivated; ability to switch between tasks; and ability to work in a team atmosphere. Approximate duration: January-June.
Tax Representative 2, Compliance ($13.50-$14.50): Respond to customer inquiries via telephone and email regarding the interception of refunds applied against debts to other Wisconsin state agencies. Prepare payment vouchers, determine prorated refunds, research and apply suspended payments, and conduct research on name and identification mismatches. Qualifications: Ability to work independently and perform detailed research and analysis; problem solving skills; basic math skills; verbal communication skills; professional telephone etiquette; intermediate computer skills; and ability to sit for long periods of time. Approximate duration: January-June (M-F, 8:00am-4:30pm).
Financial Specialist ($13.50-$14.50/hour): Organize and sort returned refund checks; research and correct addresses and other information of taxpayer accounts; mail appropriate documents to taxpayers; assist customer service in location of undeliverable refund checks and assist with any other issues and questions related to undeliverable refund checks; receive checks, read and determine where and how checks are to be distributed; assist with electronic imaging; data entry and reconciliation. Qualifications: intermediate computer skills; ability to work independently; problem solving; good verbal communication skills; good organizational skills attention to deal. Approximate duration: January-June.
