The Wisconsin Department of Veterans Affairs currently has a Limited Term Employment (LTE) position available for a Custodian.

This position is responsible for the cleanliness of patient and/or non-patient care areas. Duties include dusting; sweeping; wet washing and mopping; operating power floor-maintenance equipment; stripping/waxing floors; maintaining equipment; moving furniture; cleaning and/or sanitizing offices, patient rooms, common areas and bathrooms; garbage collection/disposal; and performance of limited grounds and facilities maintenance. This work involves manual labor of a heavy physical nature and requires the ability to lift on a regular basis; bend, twist, stoop, reach, perform repetitive motion tasks and walk/stand for an entire shift.
Due to the nature of the position, WDVA will conduct criminal background checks prior to an offer of hire.
Employment in this position is contingent upon passing a pre-employment tuberculosis (TB) test.
Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States (e.g., a citizen or national of the U.S., a lawful permanent resident, an alien authorized to work in the U.S. without WDVA sponsorship) at the time of application.
Per Wisconsin Statute 230.26, Wisconsin residency is required for LTE appointments.
Minimally qualified applicants will have experience performing general cleaning procedures and be able to perform routine maintenance of cleaning equipment.
Well-qualified applicants will have experience performing custodial-level cleaning duties and have floor technician experience (e.g., commercial stripping and waxing, etc.).
