Salary:
Starting pay is between $54,080 and $70,720 annually ($26.00 - $34.00 per hour). Pay on appointment for current or former state employees based the State Compensation Plan. Current State employees applying as a transfer applicant will require DPM approval for pay on transfer increases. This position is in Pay Schedule/Range 15-03. A 12-month probation period is required.

The Department of Natural Resources is hiring an Air Management Specialist – Advanced (Field Coordinator) position in the Division of Environmental Management. This position will be located in Milwaukee, Madison (Dane County) or Green Bay (Brown County) depending on department needs and applicant interest.

Position Summary:   

This position leads a team of field operators in the design, evaluation, construction, operation, calibration and maintenance of specialized air pollution monitoring networks. This position manages projects for site-related field work and will create and execute project work plans, delegate tasks, manage day-to-day operational aspects of a project and ensure completion on time and within budget. Another main duty of this position is ensuring that field operations staff is adequately trained and receives the resources needed to complete assignments.

Qualifications:   Minimally qualified candidates will have:
• Training in the technology and mechanical instruments utilized in setting up monitoring sites
• Experience in project management
• Experience managing inventory

Well-qualified candidates will have:
• Training and/or experience following State of Wisconsin or Department of Natural Resources purchasing procedures
• Experience managing or facilitating a group training program
• Training and/or experience with federal rules
• Experience setting up monitoring sites
