Are you looking for a paid internship opportunity in a professional work environment?  If so, this might be the program for you!

The
Summer Affirmative Action Internship Program is one of many internship programs offered by the State of Wisconsin. The Division of Personnel Management, Bureau of Merit Selection and Recruitment, administers the SAAIP and provides racial/ethnic minority students, female students, students with disabilities, and veteran students an opportunity to work in a professional work environment within Wisconsin state government. SAAIP is a paid internship which provides students with valuable work experience and training in various branches of state government. Many of the interns have succeeded in obtaining employment in state government as limited term or permanent state employees.

To participate in the 2019 SAAIP, students must be a Wisconsin resident and be attending and enrolled at a two- or four-year college/university or a vocational/technical school program.

Position Summary:   Job duties will vary depending on position obtained. To review positions available in the summer of 2019, click here: 2019 SAAIP Positions Available.  You have the option of choosing up to 3 positions.

Special Notes:   Applications are considered incomplete if the Student Status Verification Form is not submitted by the deadline, no exceptions.

Due to the nature of each position, agencies may conduct background checks on applicants prior to selection. All persons hired will be required to verify identity and eligibility to work in the United States, and to complete the required employment eligibility form. In order to be considered for an LTE Intern position, you must be a resident of the State of Wisconsin.

Qualifications:   Job knowledge, skills and abilities will vary depending on the position sought.

How To Apply:   After reviewing the 2019 positions available and making note of the 3-digit position number of the position(s) of interest, complete the following process:

1. Click "Apply Now" at the top of job announcement
2. Upload your resume.

Student Status Verification Form. When you upload your Student Status Verification form at the Documents page, click "Add Document." At the Upload page, click on the drop down menu for Document Type and select “License/Certification,” name your document, browse, and add your Student Status Verification form.
4. Click "Continue." When prompted at the Documents Page, attach your Student Status verification form.
5. Complete the questions in the assessment when prompted.

Your application will be considered incomplete if your Student Status verification form is not submitted by the February 28, 2019 deadline.
