The Department of Natural Resources is hiring an Administrative Assistant within the Bureau of Facilities and Lands.  This position will be located in our Central Office, downtown Madison.

In partnership with individuals and organizations, DNR staff manage fish, wildlife, forests, parks, air, and water resources while promoting a healthy, sustainable environment and a full range of outdoor activities.

Position Summary:   

The purpose of this position is to provide a variety of support services to the Bureau of Facilities and Lands for property planning, real estate services, department-wide staff identification card management and production, and central office staff parking inventory and management.

Primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
   1. Development and implementation of internal and external communications
   2. Document editing and formatting
   3. Property planning assistance
   4. Document and records filing and retention
   5. Staff ID card management
   6. Parking inventory and management

Special Notes:   Employment will require the selected candidate to pass a background check. DNR does not sponsor work visas, thus, in compliance with federal law, all persons hired will be required to verify eligibility to work in the United States by completing the required I-9 form upon hire.

Qualifications:   Required skills include the following:
   - Experience using the Microsoft (MS) Office Suite programs (e.g. creating MS Office documents, Excel spreadsheets and reports, creating PowerPoint presentations, creating flyers on Publisher, etc.)
   - Experience providing administrative support for management teams within an organization (e.g. organizing materials for meetings or events, keeping pertinent files/communications organized, researching information, managing calendars, etc.)
   - Experience drafting confidential documentation and/or maintaining confidential information

Additionally, preferred skills include experience with the following:
   - Performing quality assurance reviews on documents for accuracy, completeness, and/or compliance
   - Composing or editing correspondence for both internal and external stakeholders (e.g. emails, memos, newsletters, web content, etc.)
   - Designing or maintaining databases or electronic filing systems
