The Wisconsin Department of Health Services (DHS),  Winnebago Mental Health Institute (WMHI) is in need of a Food Service Assistant LTE to work approximately 20 hours per week in the canteen.  For more information on Limited Term Employment (LTE), please click here.

This position will work daytime hours, Monday through Friday. 

Winnebago Mental Health Institute is a psychiatric hospital providing quality mental health services to children, adolescents and adults. The facility has a beautiful campus located on Lake Winnebago with adjacent walking paths by the lake for employees to use during break periods. 

Position Summary:   The incumbent will receive merchandise, stock shelves, pack individual patient orders, take Canteen cart merchandise to sell on patients units, and fill vending machines. The incumbent may periodically prepare meals for lunch for approximately 30 staff members who utilize the canteen. This position will assist with meal preparation and the set-up of salad and sandwich bars as needed. The incumbent will ring sales in the cash register, serve food, maintain sanitation and cleanliness in the Canteen, wash dishes, and sweep and mop floors.

Special Notes:   Due to the nature of the position, all applicants who may be appointed to this position will be required to allow the Department of Health Services to conduct a background check to determine whether the circumstances of any conviction may be related to the job being filled.

Qualifications:   A well-qualified candidate will have good customer service skills, prior experience in handling cash, and experience preparing food. The incumbent must be able to lift 25 pounds and 50 pounds occasionally.
