Are you looking for a summer job where you can work amongst some of the best scenery in the Midwest? The Department of Natural Resources is looking to hire multiple Limited Term Employment (LTE) positions at Wisconsin's largest and busiest state park, Devil's Lake State Park!

Position Summary:   

These positions will start in the spring/early summer and work through late summer/fall; with some flexibility depending upon candidate's availability and the needs of the state property. Park Mower/ Laborer (2 positions) - Job duties include mowing and string trimming picnic areas, campgrounds, and trails. Other miscellaneous maintenance tasks may be assigned. Find more information and apply here!


Laborer / Park Cleaner (12 positions) - Job duties include cleaning park buildings and facilities, collecting and removing litter in picnic areas and campgrounds, and other miscellaneous maintenance tasks. Weekends and some holidays are required. Find more information and apply here!

Special Notes:   

These are limited term (LTE) positions. Limited term positions do not automatically lead to or have the same benefits as permanent employment, but this position does offer valuable work experience and an opportunity to learn more about career opportunities with the Department of Natural Resources and the State of Wisconsin. LTE employees are limited to working 1039 hours within a twelve-month period. In order to be considered for this position, you must be a resident of the State of Wisconsin.


Employment will require the selected candidate to pass a background check.  DNR does not sponsor work visas, thus, in compliance with federal law, all persons hired will be required to verify eligibility to work in the United States by completing the required I-9 form upon hire.

Qualifications:   Required Qualifications:
- Customer service oriented
- Self motivated; ability to work independently with minimal supervision (only for Park Mower/ Laborer position)
- Able to work outdoors in variable weather conditions
- Able to work alone and in a team environment (only for Park Cleaner/ Laborer position

Preferred Qualifications:
- Eligible to drive a state-owned vehicle (valid WI Drivers License, 2 years driving experience, minimal moving violations, etc.)
- A minimal level of mechanical inclination is preferred (only for Park Cleaner/ Laborer position)
