Base pay will be between $22-$27 per hour. Add-on pay up to an additional $2.97 per hour is available for relevant credits that are above those required for certification. This position is in pay schedule and range 13-04.
The Northern Wisconsin Center (NWC) is hiring a Limited Term Employment (LTE) Teacher in Chippewa Falls. This position will work approximately 20 hours per week within the hours of 8am-4:30pm, Monday-Friday. The number of hours may fluctuate and is dependent upon enrollment. This individual will offset the workload and assist our current Teacher with implementing and conducting educational activities pursuant to each Individualized Education Plan (IEP).
NWC is a short-term assessment and treatment facility for individuals who have an intellectual disability as well as a mental illness and aggressive or challenging behaviors. The programming is designed to prepare people to live successfully in a community setting. NWC is one of three centers for individuals with intellectual disabilities managed by the Division of Care and Treatment Services.
LTE positions are temporary and the individual is limited to working 1,039 hours in a 12 month period. Benefits are not available. For more information, please click here: LTE Info. Position Summary:
The teacher will complete functional and standardized assessments, develop individual education plans and provide classroom instruction for students with developmental disabilities and mental illness.
Due to the nature of the position, all applicants who may be appointed to this position will be required to allow DHS to conduct a background check to determine whether the circumstances of any conviction may be related to the job being filled.
In order to be minimally qualified, candidates must be certified or eligible for certification by the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction for certification #1810 - Cognitive Disabilities or #1801 - Cross-categorical Special Education.
