This Facilities Repair Worker Advanced position is with the Department of Military Affairs (DMA), and will be headquartered in Camp Douglas, Wisconsin.

This is a Limited Term Employment opportunity. Limited term employment does not give rights to any permanent civil service position and does not lead to permanent status. A limited term employee is not eligible for tenure, paid time off (e.g. compensatory time off, vacation, holidays, sick leave), performance awards or the right to compete in promotional exams.

Position Summary:   This position is responsible for general buildings and ground maintenance and upkeep at DMA facilities in the assigned area, and spends the majority of its time completing inspections and accomplishing minor maintenance, repair, and structural alterations on mechanical and building systems. All required preventative maintenance functions will be completed within all interval requirements. This position is also responsible for maintaining an adequate inventory of supplies, materials, and equipment to accomplish all job-related duties. Incumbent will also assist in monitoring various contract services, and with lawn mowing and snow removal operations using heavy equipment when necessary, as well as accurately complete all required paperwork and submit as required. On occasion, this position will provide support for maintenance requirements at other DMA facilities and perform other duties as assigned.

Special Notes:   Incumbent must be able to obtain and maintain a valid Wisconsin driverís license, as well as a military driverís license.

Qualifications:   The incumbent of this position must have knowledge of the safe and proper use of common tools used for building repair; as well as proper techniques and safe practices for maintenance and repair operations. Also required is the ability to use a personal computer and software; as well as skill in promoting teamwork and cooperation among coworkers.
