Starting pay for Facilities Repair Worker will be $13.70 per hour (03-10). Compensation includes an excellent benefits package. A twelve-month probationary period will be required. For current permanent state employees, pay will be set in accordance with the State Compensation Plan’s rules that apply to pay upon transfer, reinstatement, voluntary demotion, or promotion transactions.

This position will be doing general maintenance and repair work to facilities, grounds and equipment of a semi-skilled nature.The Facilities Repair worker will be spending their time- 1) inspecting, maintaining and repairing floors, roofs, wall and ceilings including maintaining doors, windows and screens. This position will also inspect, maintain and repair grounds, including parking lots and sidewalks; or 2) function as helpers to craftsman or assistants to HVAC Specialists, HVAC Specialist-Advanced or Facilities Maintenance Specialists (FMS).
The incumbent of this position must have knowledge of the safe and proper use of common tools used for building repair; as well as proper techniques and safe practices for maintenance and repair operations. Also required is skill in promoting teamwork and cooperation among coworkers.
